The purple square indicates the number of articles a student has read. This includes stories in the daily edition, articles assigned, student independent reading, articles from a previous days’ issue, reading the Fresh Word of the Day, and reading the Quote of the Day. 

The pink circle indicates the number of quizzes a student has completed. This includes quizzes that may have been answered incorrectly. In addition, quizzes associated with assignments are also included in the Lifetime Achievements’ counter.
